Alberto Del Rio WWE Return Expected: AAA Contract, Rumors, and Updates
WWE’s recent acquisition of Mexican lucha libre promotion AAA has sparked speculation about Alberto Del Rio’s potential return to the company. Fans have been eager to see whether Del Rio, a former WWE Champion, would be making his comeback.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, those close to Del Rio believe he will eventually return to WWE, though no official date has been confirmed.
“Those who are friendly with Alberto are reporting that everything is fine between him and WWE, and he’s going to be back in WWE eventually, but not right now.”
Currently, Alberto Del Rio remains signed to AAA. While WWE is expected to inherit his contract through their acquisition, he will not be participating in the upcoming WWE x AAA Worlds Collide event on June 7th.
AAA recently announced a match featuring Alberto Del Rio and El Hijo del Vikingo for an event on May 31st, highlighting Del Rio’s continued importance to the promotion.
While no date is set for his WWE return, the future looks bright. If Del Rio maintains momentum in AAA and fan interest grows, a WWE return seems inevitable. For now, he remains with AAA, but insiders are confident it’s only a matter of time before he’s back in a WWE ring.
