WrestleMania 42 Could Go International – WWE Eyes Global Stage After New Orleans Exit

WWE Planning International Venue for WrestleMania 42 After Dropping New Orleans

WrestleMania 42 might be heading into uncharted territory as WWE considers hosting the massive event outside the U.S. and Canada for the first time. Just months after The Rock helped announce New Orleans as the official host city for WrestleMania 2026, plans have now shifted—and the company could be taking its biggest event global.
According to **PWInsider Elite**, multiple WWE sources believe that WrestleMania 42 could take place in an international city. While nothing is official yet, London is currently seen as the leading contender, especially after high-level meetings between WWE and London’s mayor in 2023.
There are also rumors pointing to Mexico as a potential location, with WWE expressing growing interest in Latin America for major premium live events.
Why Was WrestleMania 42 Pulled from New Orleans?
Originally scheduled for April 11–12, 2026 at the Caesars Superdome, WrestleMania 42 was expected to return to New Orleans, a city that previously hosted in 2014 and 2018. However, WWE and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation issued a joint statement revealing that WrestleMania would be moved to a “future year.”
Although no official reason was given, many insiders suggest financial incentives from host cities could be the driving force. WWE has secured multi-million dollar site fees in recent years:
* Las Vegas paid $5 million for WrestleMania 41
* New Jersey is paying $7.1 million for SummerSlam 2025
This opens the door for international markets willing to outbid U.S. cities and offer greater value to WWE and parent company TKO Group Holdings.
What’s Coming to New Orleans Instead?
While fans in New Orleans won’t get WrestleMania in 2026, the city will host WWE Money in the Bank 2026 as part of a multi-year, multi-event deal with TKO.
In addition, UFC 318 is confirmed for July 19, 2025, at the Smoothie King Center, showing that New Orleans remains an important market for the company.
Should WrestleMania Go Global?
Hosting **WrestleMania outside North America** would mark a major evolution in WWE’s global strategy. But would fans be willing to travel for a truly international WrestleMania?
What do you think?
Should WWE take WrestleMania to London, Mexico, or another international location?
