WrestleMania 42 Close to Confirming Las Vegas as Host City Amid Major Hurdles Cleared

Las Vegas is on the verge of making WWE history by hosting WrestleMania 42, according to a new report from Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live. While nothing has been finalized just yet, Alvarez notes that several major hurdles have been cleared—paving the way for WWE’s biggest show of 2026 to return to the desert.
“As of today, they’re still not ‘confirmed’ for anywhere, but this morning, they cleared several hurdles that were in the way of WWE going to WrestleMania [in Vegas],” Alvarez revealed. “Vegas is apparently making a lot of concessions to clear the way for WrestleMania, and I was told that as of today, it is almost a done deal.”
Initially, New Orleans was the frontrunner to host WrestleMania 42. However, WWE pivoted and awarded New Orleans the 2026 edition of Money in the Bank instead. With that decision, Las Vegas emerged as the leading candidate—and fans could soon be booking flights for another unforgettable event in Nevada.
According to Alvarez, the main obstacles weren’t purely financial—they were logistical. One significant issue involved Allegiant Stadium, where WWE plans to host the spectacle.
“There was an unannounced concert, but the concert was close enough to the planned date of WrestleMania that there was not gonna be enough time to set up, and the concert was unwilling to move,” Alvarez explained.
Additionally, there were issues with the Las Vegas Convention Center, the expected venue for WWE’s fan festival—previously known as WrestleMania Axxess and now rebranded as WWE World. While Alvarez didn’t detail how those problems were resolved, he confirmed that “several hurdles were cleared” just this morning.
“So it’s looking like probably very, very shortly, we’re going to get the news that next year’s WrestleMania is officially in Las Vegas, Nevada,” he said, adding: “Vegas again. I’m fine with that. It’s nice and warm.”
If WWE officially books Las Vegas, WrestleMania 42 would mark the first time WWE has staged its flagship event in the same city for two consecutive years. For fans who crave big fights, bright lights, and warm weather, Las Vegas promises another unforgettable weekend.
