WWE’s 2025 Draft Moved to Fall: Big Shakeup for RAW and SmackDown Ahead of TV Reset

WWE Moving 2025 Draft to Fall for Major TV Reset

WWE is reportedly planning a major shakeup for the 2025 Draft—and it’s happening later than expected.

According to a fresh report from BodySlam.net’s Cory Hays and Viper, WWE is set to move the annual Draft from its traditional post-WrestleMania slot to the fall after SummerSlam. SummerSlam 2025 is scheduled for August 2–3, setting up the Draft to align perfectly with WWE’s season premiere episodes in September.

The report explains:

“The last I heard about the WWE Draft was that they have been considering doing it post-SummerSlam, most likely as a tie-in to the season premiere episodes in September.”

By pushing the Draft back, WWE gives itself time to wrap up ongoing storylines, allowing NXT call-ups and returning stars to find their groove before any major roster changes are implemented. This approach also ensures that RAW and SmackDown both get a fresh coat of paint ahead of the biggest TV period of the year.

Historically, WWE would hold the Draft soon after WrestleMania, but this year’s delay indicates the company doesn’t feel pressured to reshuffle rosters just yet. Instead, a fall Draft might serve as a clean reset button, giving WWE creative a chance to build momentum heading into the busiest time of the season.

Do you think the WWE Draft should stay post-WrestleMania, or is a post-SummerSlam shakeup a better idea? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
