Liv Morgan Injury Derails WWE Evolution 2 Plans—Women’s Division in Chaos

The June 16 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw was set to push one of the most anticipated rivalries in the women’s division. But a sudden shoulder injury to Liv Morgan has thrown WWE’s entire creative roadmap into disarray—particularly plans for the upcoming Evolution 2 premium live event.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s creative team is now in limbo. No major meetings have yet taken place to restructure storylines impacted by Morgan’s injury—especially one of the key matches planned for Evolution 2.

“That’s going to have to be changed,” Meltzer explained. “They could go with Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez vs. the Bellas. But at this point, key meetings haven’t even happened yet.”

Meltzer also revealed that Nikki Bella was present at Raw and was originally scheduled to interfere in Liv Morgan’s match against Kairi Sane. But after Morgan suffered a legitimate shoulder dislocation mid-match, the entire segment was scrapped. Nikki was pulled from the broadcast altogether, despite being heavily promoted.

Liv Morgan, who currently holds the Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside Raquel Rodriguez, is reportedly set for shoulder surgery and expected to be out for several months. This leaves WWE with a major storyline hole—and no clear creative direction as both SummerSlam and Evolution 2 loom large.

What’s Next for the Women’s Tag Titles?

With one-half of the champions sidelined and no replacement storyline confirmed, WWE must now decide whether to crown interim champions or wait for Liv’s return. Names like Roxanne Perez and even the Bella Twins have been floated as potential pivot points—but no decisions have been finalized.

Time is ticking, and WWE will need to act fast. A single injury has unraveled months of storytelling. All eyes are now on WWE’s next move to salvage their women’s division momentum heading into Evolution 2.
