Bill Goldberg Declares: “Even at 58, I’m Better Than 99% of Wrestlers”

Bill Goldberg isn’t going out quietly. At 58, the WWE Hall of Famer is preparing for one final match—and he’s making bold claims as he steps back into the spotlight.

In an interview with Dan Sileo, Goldberg opened up about his motivation to return to the ring. It’s not about money or fame—it’s about legacy.

“I want to go out on my own terms. That’s all.”

Goldberg revealed that his final WWE match against Roman Reigns in Saudi Arabia wasn’t how he envisioned his career ending. Battling the after-effects of COVID and undertrained, he admits it was far from ideal.

“I hadn’t trained for three months. I had COVID. That wasn’t the right way for me to go out.”

Goldberg says a proper sendoff was originally in the works with Vince McMahon, but when McMahon left WWE, the plan was shelved—until recently.

“Out of the blue, I get a phone call asking if I’m still interested in the retirement match. I didn’t hesitate.”

But it was what he said next that truly made headlines.

“My best—50% of me—is better than 99% of the pricks on the planet. I believe it is.”

Goldberg made it crystal clear—he still sees himself as a top-tier performer, even if he’s pushing 60. The hunger is real, and so is the fire.

“I don’t care if I’m 30 pounds lighter or hobbling—I’m going out to make a point.”

Whether you love him or hate him, there’s no denying Goldberg is bringing the same smash-mouth attitude that defined his career. Now, with the stage set for a potential retirement match in 2025, the only question is—who’s next?
