CM Punk and GUNTHER Go Face-to-Face
CM Punk opened RAW with a passionate promo about becoming World Champion again. Declaring his hunger to defeat GUNTHER at SummerSlam, Punk admitted he couldn’t promise victory but vowed to fight like hell. GUNTHER interrupted and stated bluntly that his ego is earned, not chanted. The segment ended with both men staring each other down — tension simmering before their mega clash.
Singles Match: Sheamus vs. Rusev
In a hard-hitting affair, Sheamus picked up the win over Rusev with a well-timed Brogue Kick after countering Rusev’s use of a shillelagh. The back-and-forth brawl set the tone for a night full of physicality.
LWO Earns WWE Tag Title Opportunity
The New Day, American Made, and LWO collided in a chaotic triple threat match to determine the No. 1 contenders for the WWE World Tag Team Championships. With outside interference from Dragon Lee and El Grande Americano, the match devolved into mayhem. Ultimately, Joaquin Wilde rolled up Kofi Kingston for the win, earning LWO a title shot.
Stephanie Vaquer vs. IYO SKY Ends in Disqualification
A highly athletic bout between Stephanie and IYO was interrupted by Chelsea Green, leading to a disqualification. A
fter the match, chaos broke out with Naomi attacking IYO, but Rhea Ripley returned to restore order, standing tall with IYO and Vaquer to close the segment.
Women’s Tag Title Match: Judgment Day Retains
Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez successfully defended their titles against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in a competitive showdown. Despite a valiant effort by Bayley and Lyra, Raquel’s Tejana Bomb sealed the win.
Becky Lynch and Lyra Agree to No DQ SummerSlam Match
Becky Lynch, now flaunting her Intercontinental Title and Hollywood success, cut a promo mocking Lyra Valkyria. The two agreed on a no count-out, no disqualification match at SummerSlam with a major stipulation — the loser can never challenge for the title again.
Singles Match: Sami Zayn vs. Karrion Kross
Despite fighting through injured ribs, Sami Zayn gave it everything against Karrion Kross. However, interference from Scarlett and a steel pipe shot allowed Kross to steal the win, further intensifying their feud.
Roman Reigns Returns to Confront Paul Heyman
In the closing segment, Roman Reighttps://sportswithrb.com/roman-reigns-return-update-summerslam-2025/ns returned to RAW and rejected Paul Heyman’s offer to “lead again.” Reigns humiliated Heyman on the mic, calling him a “dumbass,” signaling he’s not aligning with Heyman’s new clients — Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. The crowd erupted with “OTC” chants as Reigns stood tall, dismissing Heyman’s plea.
RAW closed with several rivalries reaching boiling points, as SummerSlam builds to be a truly colossal event.
