WWE Expects Drew McIntyre to Return for SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre Expected to Return for WWE SummerSlam Despite Travel Chaos

Drew McIntyre’s unexpected travel nightmare had WWE fans buzzing with concern, especially with SummerSlam just around the corner. But now, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. According to recent reports, WWE officials are confident that the Scottish Warrior will be back in time for his much-anticipated tag team match at SummerSlam.

McIntyre’s trouble began during a trip to England for a wedding. While attempting to board a flight back to the United States, he was denied entry due to a missing physical copy of his U.S. passport, despite being a longtime resident of Nashville and holding valid identification and global entry documentation.

The incident went viral after McIntyre posted a frustrated yet humorous video from the English countryside.

“I can’t get back in America. They wouldn’t let me board my flight. Look at the scenic countryside. Does that look like an American scenic countryside? No, I’m in England.”

The RAW Superstar described how airport staff recognized him and acknowledged his U.S. residency but still refused to let him board without the physical passport.

“Wife and I walked up to the gate trying to check in. Always goes perfectly fine. Not this time though. ‘You don’t have your US passport.’ I know who you are. I know you’ve lived there for a long time. I know you’re showing me pictures of US passport and your Global Entry… it doesn’t matter.”

McIntyre didn’t hold back on who he blamed for the chaos—Jelly Roll. The Grammy-nominated musician, who is set to tag with Randy Orton against McIntyre and Logan Paul, caught some heat in Drew’s video.

“What changed this trip? Jelly Roll… Soon you will not be [hot]. So you’re getting in while you can… When this is all over and I get back, I’m going to drop you, Jelly Roll. I’m going to make you pay.”

Despite the disruption, WWE officials told Fightful Select they are optimistic the situation will be resolved well before the event.

“WWE sources we spoke to feel confident it will be rectified, although they obviously weren’t pleased that McIntyre is going through the situation.”

The planned tag team match—Logan Paul & Drew McIntyre vs Jelly Roll & Randy Orton—is one of the most talked-about matches on the card. Losing McIntyre would be a significant blow to the build-up, but with a few weeks to go, WWE appears to be all-in on ensuring he’s cleared for return.

Whether it’s resolved within days or drags on for another week, this real-life passport debacle has now become an unexpected twist in the SummerSlam storylines.

Do you think Drew will make it back in time for SummerSlam? Or should WWE prepare a Plan B? Sound off in the comments.
