Mariah May’s AEW Contract Still Active Despite Roster Removal: WWE Move Looms
Mariah May’s exit from AEW seemed imminent when her profile was recently removed from the company’s official roster page. However, her management has clarified that despite being off TV and missing from AEW programming, her contract remains active as of May 30, 2025.
This news has sparked fresh speculation about her future, especially as WWE sources strongly indicate that May is expected to sign with WWE soon. According to Fightful Select, AEW has yet to officially release her from her contract, but WWE is already preparing to bring her on board once her AEW deal expires.
May’s potential WWE move comes after months of tension and rumored dissatisfaction with her treatment in AEW. Fans remember her vlog from Chicago, where she expressed her disappointment over her accommodations:
“So, I’m coming to you from Chicago. I checked the view, but like there’s not really anything to write home about. I got really screwed over with the rooms. Everybody came in my room. I was like, ‘Oh.’ I’m like, ‘What do you mean?’ Oh. So, I feel like everyone else has like a gorgeous view of the skyline. I’m not killing it so much. But I am tapping into this vlog. So, I’m in Chicago for Dynamite and Rampage, which we’re filming today.”
This wasn’t the only time May voiced frustration. When a fan tweeted about the poor hotel situation, she simply replied: “What’s new,” highlighting her dissatisfaction with AEW’s handling of talent.
Despite her management’s assurance that her AEW contract is still active, the writing seems to be on the wall: WWE is eager to sign Mariah May as soon as her deal expires. WWE sources are confident that May’s arrival is all but confirmed, signaling a big shift in her wrestling career.
