TKO Plans to Renegotiate Roman Reigns’ \$15 Million WWE Contract Amid Cost-Cutting Moves

Roman Reigns is WWE’s undisputed top star—and he’s paid accordingly. But according to new reports, TKO executives want to renegotiate his lucrative contract amid ongoing cost-cutting efforts.

Speaking on Lucha Libre Online, wrestling insider Hugo Savinovich shared that he received surprising information from Lucha Libre Online President Javier González and Vice President Michael Morales while at the gym. After reviewing the data, Savinovich was shocked to learn about TKO’s plans involving Roman Reigns.

“Honestly, the more I saw the data being shared with me by Javier González and Michael Morales, I couldn’t believe it. It’s all about Roman Reigns,” Savinovich explained.

On The Last Word podcast, hosted by Jonathan Coachman and Tommy Carlucci, it was revealed that TKO executives are reevaluating Roman’s contract structure. They reportedly don’t plan to release him but no longer want to pay him \$15 million per year.

Roman Reigns’ WWE Earnings Breakdown
Savinovich elaborated on how Roman’s massive pay package is structured:

  • 💰 Base Salary: \$5 million annually
  • 🎮 Add-ons: Pay-per-view bonuses, WWE 2K video game deals, promotional appearances, and merchandise royalties (he earns 30% of merch sales).
  • 🌍 International Bonuses: Special payouts for events in Saudi Arabia and ticket sales.

Combined, this adds up to around \$15 million per year. Even outside WWE, Roman is a valuable brand, with agents managing his deals—but WWE still takes a cut. Roman is also rumored to be in talks for another Hollywood film, with WWE expected to profit from that as well.

“Even outside WWE, Roman is a strong brand,” Savinovich noted. “He’s making millions, and WWE still manages to get their cut.”

Why the Sudden Interest in Renegotiation?
TKO has already released several talents and is reportedly preparing for more. WWE executive Nick Khan recently sold \$4 million worth of stock, adding fuel to the speculation.

According to Savinovich, TKO executives are questioning why Roman is being paid full-time money despite working a reduced schedule. That’s why they’re considering renegotiating his contract to reflect his current availability.

“They’re asking: Roman’s not around full-time. Why are we paying him full-time money?” Savinovich explained.

While TKO’s plans haven’t been confirmed, the possibility of a renegotiated contract has sparked debate among fans about whether Roman Reigns is worth the \$15 million yearly package—especially given his limited appearances since WrestleMania 41, where Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker laid him out.
