WrestleMania 2026 Removed from New Orleans – Major WWE Event Replaced with Money in the Bank

WWE Cancels WrestleMania 2026 in New Orleans – Here’s What’s Happening Instead

In a surprising turn of events, WWE has officially removed WrestleMania 2026 from New Orleans, reversing a previously announced plan made earlier this year. Despite a high-profile reveal featuring The Rock, the iconic wrestling spectacle will no longer take place in the Big Easy.
According to a joint statement from the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and WWE, WrestleMania 42 has been postponed to an unspecified future year. No official reason was disclosed, but plans for WWE’s presence in New Orleans are far from over.
Money in the Bank 2026 to Take Over New Orleans
While WrestleMania won’t be happening in New Orleans in 2026, the city isn’t left out entirely. WWE’s Money in the Bank 2026 will now be hosted in New Orleans as part of a multi-year, multi-event agreement with TKO Group Holdings (the parent company of WWE and UFC).
The announcement also confirms that UFC 318 is scheduled for July 19, 2025, at the Smoothie King Center, showcasing TKO’s commitment to the New Orleans market. A date for Money in the Bank 2026 hasn’t been revealed yet, but it usually occurs in June or July.
Where Will WrestleMania 2026 Be Held Now?
As of now, WWE has not disclosed the new host city for WrestleMania 2026. Given recent trends, massive site fees and tax incentives are likely influencing factors. For instance, Las Vegas reportedly paid $5 million to host WrestleMania 41, while New Jersey is offering $7.1 million for SummerSlam 2025.
Originally, WrestleMania 42 was set for April 11 and 12, 2026, at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which last hosted the event in 2014 and 2018.
