WWE Secretly Planned Stephanie Vaquer’s NXT Title Loss Ahead of Main Roster Debut

WWE fans were left stunned after Stephanie Vaquer lost the NXT Women’s Championship to Jacy Jayne on the May 27, 2025 episode of NXT. But as it turns out, the surprise was very much intentional—carefully orchestrated by WWE behind the scenes.

According to Fightful Select, WWE went to great lengths to ensure the unexpected title change remained confidential. Even internal documents, such as match rundowns, reportedly excluded the outcome to maintain maximum surprise for talent and staff alike.

“Steps were taken to protect the surprise NXT Women’s Championship victory by Stephanie Vaquer, including with internal rundowns,” the report stated.

Coming off a major title defense against Jordynne Grace at WWE Battleground, Vaquer seemed like a dominant champion. During her match with Jacy Jayne, she hit her finisher—the Devil’s Kiss—but chaos soon followed. Fallon Henley interfered, landing a brutal kick that allowed Jayne to capitalize and steal the win. The result left the Capitol Wrestling Center crowd in shock.

But there’s a bigger reason for this twist: Stephanie Vaquer is expected to debut on Monday Night Raw very soon. As per Cory Hays of PWN, WWE has fast-tracked Vaquer’s main roster debut and wanted to wrap up her NXT storyline in shocking fashion.

“Stephanie Vaquer is expected to join Monday Night Raw following her loss to Jacy Jayne,” Hays confirmed.

Her prior Raw appearances were already hinting at this transition. Now, with her NXT chapter closed and the red brand ahead, WWE appears ready to push Vaquer as a top name on the main roster.
